Boston Festivities Take Place October 18 - 24, 2009 with 7 Nights of Concerts Plus Workshops and Free Community Events
Highlights include Wayne Shorter Quartet and the NEC Philharmonia on Saturday, October 24; NEC Jazz Summit on Fri., October 23 with Gunther Schuller, Carl Atkins, Roger Kellaway, Ran Blake, Don Byron, Bob Brookmeyer, Cecil McBee, Rachael Price, Fred Hersch, Billy Hart, & Dominique Eade with the NEC Jazz Orchestra
New England Conservatory celebrates the 40th Anniversary of its first-in-the-nation Jazz Studies program during the 2009-2010 academic year with a week each of ticketed and free concerts in Boston (October 18 - 24, 2009) and NYC (March 21--27, 2010) featuring some of NEC's most renowned alumni, faculty and students, as well as clinics and community events surrounding the concerts. Proceeds from these events will support jazz scholarships at NEC.
