AccuJazz Internet Radio is celebrating the legacy of the greatest sibling set in jazz history, the Jones brothers, with a free streaming Internet radio channel dedicated to their music. The channel features music by pianist Hank, drummer Elvin and trumpeter/composer/arranger/bandleader Thad. As with all AccuJazz channels, it is free to use and available 24 hours a day.

With the passing of Hank Jones on May 16, the last of the Jones brothers is gone, and no doubt many jazz lovers want to revisit the disarmingly large amount of great music created by the three, each among the absolute best on his instrument. The AccuJazz channel, called “Keeping Up With the Joneses," plays music from throughout the brothers' careers as leaders and as sidemen.

Hank Jones is known as a pianist of superior taste and and unparalleled sensitivity, and listeners will have many opportunities to hear his distinctive touch on albums of his from the '50s through the current decade. For all his great work as a leader, Hank is best known as a master accompanist, and listeners will hear his playing on albums by artists like Cannonball Adderley, Milt Jackson and Joe Lovano.

Elvin Jones is rightly regarded as one of the greatest and most innovative drummers of all time. His propulsive beat and unprecedented rhythmic inventiveness forever changed jazz drumming. Best known for his role in John Coltrane's famous “Classic Quartet" from 1960-1965, Jones appeared on countless records throughout his long career. He also led his own groups for a number of decades, and continued playing drums up until his death in 2004.

Thad Jones had a jam-packed music career, working as an accomplished trumpet player as well as a great composer, arranger and bandleader. A member of Count Basie's trumpet section for 9 years, Jones developed an intimate relationship with the big band and went on to found the Thad Jones-Mel Lewis Orchestra with drummer Mel Lewis. The orchestra featured New York's best jazz musicians and played Thad's swinging, harmonically complex music. His body of work is still held up as the gold standard of post-Basie big band jazz, and continues to be played by college jazz ensembles around the world.

“Keeping Up With the Joneses" is playing hundreds of songs featuring the Jones brothers from throughout their multifaceted careers. Listeners can find the channel at
