Music China adds an extra hall to its 2012 show

Music China, Asia Pacific's most influential music industry event is adding an extra hall to its 2012 show which will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, China from 11-14 October.

The show, organised by Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co Ltd and the China Music Instrument Association (CMIA), INTEX Shanghai, will have seven halls totalling 85,000 sqm of exhibition space and is expected to attract more than 53,000 visitors.

Commenting on the 2012 show, Mr Evan Sha, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt Shanghai Co Ltd said: “Following the success of last year's 10th anniversary show, almost all of the 2011 exhibitors have reserved space at this year's show, and some are even looking for bigger booth space. Along with industry key players, we have confirmed pavilions from Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany and the UK, and are under discussions with pavilions such as France, Italy, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, Taiwan and many more."

Market for imported musical instruments continues to grow

China is a key market for musical instruments, especially imported high quality instruments. For instance, the piano market, as one of the major segments in the MI market, enjoys a swift growth: 65,602 pianos were imported into China up until the third quarter of 2011, resulting in a 39.14 per cent year-on-year increase.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, Ministry of Commerce, and General Administration of Customs, the 2011 total value of imported musical instruments (up until October 2011), was USD 220 million. This is an increase of 20.28 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

Music China is the regional Asian brand event of Musikmesse which will be held in Frankfurt, Germany from 21-24 March 2012.
