One of the most compelling voices you'll every hear.
—The Musical Hype
G. Thomas Allen
Not too many male singers have a high C6, well at least not to be heard in public, but G. Thomas Allen's stratospheric range and pleasantly smooth tone is the next wave of sound in the modern jazz space. Native of Danville, VA, by way of Chicago, where he is currently based and accessible to the jazz scene; whether it's jamming at Andy's Jazz Club or sitting in at The Green Mill with the trumpeter Pharez Whitted or saxophonist Eric Schneider—to name a few.

He's love for jazz started, back in undergraduate at Morgan State University, when he was selected to go to Paris, France with Wynton Marsalis' band as part of the singers that did the background work for All Rise (2002 Sony Classical Records). Because of his unique range, he initially decided to venture into the classical space and distinguished in the world of opera as one of the leading African American Countertenors with past affiliations: the Los Angeles Opera, Wolf Trap Opera and has sung on notable concert stages, including but not limited to: The Music Center at Strathmore, Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center.

As former member of Darin Atwater's Soulful Symphony, known for their diverse repertoire, he started to take this approach into his own work; blending the styles of gospel, classical and jazz (formally known as “post-bop"). His self-titled album is a musical journey that embodies the rich culture of Black music with the Western European Art form influence; offering a solidarity in sound that has the ability to cross-over and relatable to all audiences. He's joined with a stellar cast of players including vet Dennis Luxion on the piano (known for playing for Chet Baker in the '80s), bassist Jeremiah Hunt and drummer Gregory Artry (with special guest drummer Kyle Swan, saxophonist Sharel Cassity and keyboardist Andrew Tombs on single only).

PRE-ORDER NOW and you get the single, “It's Sunny" featuring award-winning trumpeter Marquis Hill. Album drops on July 3, 2020 on all major digital platforms.
