This Friday, June 18th, well give the reins to one of the most loyal MOJA followers ever with a special feature we call EARL THOMAS'S FUSION FAVORITES! Now we get many musical suggestions from you but never have I received such an out-pouring of musical love as when MOJA listener Earl Thomas sent me a huge package of rare CDs that he'd burned himself just to play for you. Some of them were taken from the original LPs and he went to tremendous trouble and his own expense to get them to me. His personal liner notes are great too as he explained why he thought each one was worthy of airplay, the history behind each one, who played on it and more. So get ready to hear Michal Urbaniak's 1975 classic Fusion III featuring Larry Coryell & John Abercrombie, Carlos Santana's overlooked fusion classic The Swing Of Delight featuring Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Tony Williams and others, keyboardist Barry Miles with help from his brother, drummer Terry Silverlight on the album Magic Theatre from 1975, and Belgian guitarist Philip Catherine and his mid-70s classic Nairam that features, among others, the late Charlie Mariano on sax. You'll hear them all if you join us for this weeks edition of IF ITS FRIDAY, THIS MUST BE FUSION. Its EARL THOMAS'S FUSION FAVORITES!
