NJPACs Alternate Routes Series and Arts Education Department team up to host a special weekend of Latin Jazz with three performances from Friday, October 24 through Sunday, October 26, 2008. The culminating event, on Sunday, October 26 at 5:00pm, will bring to Prudential Hall stage the only area performance of legendary Brazilian vocalist Milton Nascimento and the Jobim Trio, celebrating the 50th anniversary of bossa nova and the release of their new album, Novas Bossas.
The night before, Saturday, October 25 at 7:30pm, renowned composer and multi-instrumentalist Paquito DRivera will take the Victoria Theater stage.
Opening the Latin Jazz Weekend on Friday, October 24 at 7:30pm will be Baila me Gente, an Latin jazz dance party on the Victoria Theater stage featuring DJ Jose Rodriguez, Cultural Explosion Dance Company and Cubanoson.
