More about CEO Heather Ramsey

Heather Ramsey, CEO of The Midwest School of Voice, is a professional recording artist and entertainer with more than a decade of experience, and she continues to perform frequently on local and national stages. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Purdue University and specializes tailoring instruction each student's unique performance and learning style. Using a variety of traditional and non-traditional techniques, her instructions focuses on “total package" performance—strong stage presentation, engaging delivery and good vocal technique on a vocal edge reflecting popular styles such as jazz, R&B, pop, rock, country and musical theater.

Heather is a classically educated musician, having played piano for 23 years and flute for 15 years in addition to her endeavors as a vocalist for her entire life. She was part of the ISSMA competitions and All-State Choirs for six years, before getting her strongest music education at Purdue University as a part of the University Choir ensemble, serving as an arranger, section leader and director throughout her tenure with the group. This group emphasized performance technique and professionalism both on and off the stage.

When she moved to the Indianapolis area after graduation, Heather continued her work as a professional vocalist, performing in musical theater and with groups and instrumentalists ranging in styles from jazz and blues to R&B and pop. Her work with Coach Ron Browning in Nashville, Tennessee convinced Heather to merge her education and musical experience to offer the opportunity for students in the Indianapolis area to learn performance and modern vocal techniques, giving each student a custom-tailored education in the art and business of music.
