On Valentines’ Day Weekend, February 13th and 14th, there will be an evening of romance, wine & roses, with a very special vocalist; this talented lady will be singing for Lovers, only! Although major recognition has thus far eluded her, she is nevertheless, one of the great vocalists on the Jazz Music scene today. For the past five years or more she has toured the World with the Count Basie Orchestra, and achieved much praise and recognition in Europe. This very gifted lady has also ‘crossed-over’ onto the Broadway Stage, where she performed the triple task of understudying all three leading ladies in the hit Show “Black and Blue”. Originally from Texas, and having spent a number of years in California, she finally made it to the Big Apple, and has not looked back since. Her most recent release is entitled “Live In London” This very special ‘singers singer’ is a one-of-a-kind vocalist, whom we are very pleased to present; Ms. Melba Joyce and her trio.

“Melba's huge voice is her instrument of peace... In the world of Jazz, singers come and go, sometimes appearing for a brief moment in the limelight, and then sinking beyond the horizon, forgotten by all except for a few die-hard fans. But every once in a while, a special someone defies all the odds and manages to make her talent shine again and again, in different venues, on stages, in the recording studios, on tour and in clubs. Such a singer is Melba Joyce."

“A huge voice that demands respect, yet at the same time is calming and soothing, it was almost as though Joyce didn't even need a microphone, it's probable the crowd would have sat there all night, mesmerizing as Joyce was." --Darren Scott, Edinburgh Evening News
