Marc Hoffman Trio To Perform During Historic Charlotte's Preservation Awards Event

Blast From the Past Is Annual Event

CHARLOTTE, NC: For the fourth consecutive year, the Marc Hoffman Trio will provide entertainment for Historic Charlotte, Inc.'s Annual Preservation Awards event, to be held this year on Wednesday, October 12, from 6:30-10:30 p.m., at the NC Dance Theater.

Led by composer/pianist/vocalist Marc Hoffman, the trio includes John Shaughnessy on bass and Chris Garges on drums.

The event, now in its eleventh year, is entitled “Blast for the Past." Hoffman will perform original jazz, standards and ballads and pop and dance tunes.

“This is always a fun event and we are grateful to Cliff McNackan for inviting us back," Hoffman said. “We're really looking forward to it."

Hoffman, a resident of nearby Salisbury, frequently performs solo gigs in Uptown Charlotte for the concert series at Founder's Hall and the Hearst Plaza. He also performs in clubs, concerts, festivals and other public and private events with his trio or quartet. He recently performed during the 7th Annual Blues & Jazz Festival in Rock Hill, SC. About Marc Hoffman:

Composer/pianist/vocalist Marc Hoffman received his degree in composition from the North Carolina School of the Arts and studied film composition at USC. He also attended The Dartington International Summer School of Music in Devon, England and the Univ. of S. California. His original jazz and concert music has been performed all over the US and in the UK, France and the Netherlands, Marc performs over 100 dates per year as a soloist and with his trio. A member of BMI and the American Composer's Forum, he is also founder and artistic director of the Salisbury School of Music.
