The Manly International Jazz Festival is Australia's largest and longest-running community based jazz festival. Set amongst the beautiful Sydney harbour environment. The festival is hugely popular with expectations of over 60, 000 people attending over the three day period. Manly is considered to be the 'home of jazz' in Australia and this year will be its 28th year of operation.

There are outdoor stages along the beachfront, in the Corso, around the entrances of Manly wharf and at major hotels in Manly.

The Manly International Jazz Festival, will be showcasing over 70 bands including popular International bands and Sydney bands over a three day period from the 1st to the 3rd of October 2005.

Kings of Swing Big Band. The Jive Bombers. Sydney Conservatorium Big Band. Zenith New Orleans Jazz Band. Bogalusa Strutters. Groove Machine Big Band. Lionel Robinson’s Dukes of Lounge. Unity Hall Jazz Band. Ricoson Buena Vista Combo. The Gap Project. John Morrison’s New Generation. Shirley Smith Soul Explosion. Sam McNally& Friends. Jubilation Jazz & Gospel Choir. A very popular band appearing at the Festival is a Sydney band called Viva the band, they regularly perform internationally and at Jazz Festivals and have a reputation for delighting their audiences with a mix of jazz, French, Spanish, salsa, swing and stunning show classics, presented in an entertaining cabaret style. They will be performing at the Manly International Jazz festival for their third year and usually perform near the entrance to Manly Wharf.
