With the backdrop of the Vatican at the height of Christmas festivities. The concert features the 120-piece Turin Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Renato Serio.

These annual concerts are performed at the Aulo Paolo VI theater at the Vatican. They are attended by an exclusive audience including cardinals, Italian nobles and members of Italian high society, as well as some American dignitaries. The concerts were started in 1992 to raise money to build 50 new churches in the Vatican area. None of the artists are paid for their performance—it is a great honor to be included in the concert, and the tradition includes an audience with the Pope for all participants. Performers include, Sarah Brightman, Charlotte Church, Manhattan Transfer, Dionne Warwick & Felicia Weathers, Bryan Adams, and more.

For almost 40 years, the quartet of Tim Hauser, Janis Siegel, Alan Paul and Cheryl Bentyne has combined its voices into an incomparable four—part harmony that has set new standards for vocal music. Spanning over 22 albums, they have earned a total of 8 Grammy awards and worldwide sales in the millions. 2011 will mark The Manhattan Transfer's 39th Anniversary.
