Liesl Schoenberger: America's Hot Musician Announces Winner

Washington, DC- Saturday, October 25, 2008- America's Hot Musician announced this week that Liesl Schoenberger is America's Hot Musician 2008. Schoenberger, 24, is a violinist from Cape Girardeau, Missouri and graduated from the University of Indiana School of Music this past May.

The show also awarded individual instrumental winners: Bobby McManus, 21 - guitar, Detroit, MI; jMAN jR, 24- keyboards, Los Angeles, CA; and Joe Lindner, 30- one man band, Watertown, SD.

The announcement had been delayed in recent weeks in part to ongoing negotiations between the show and a Canadian production company to produce season two, and by recent events surrounding judge Gregory Charles Royal and vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin uncovered at a recent news conference at the National Press Club which was covered by ABC, NBC, CNN and the New York Times.

America's Hot Musician aired its finals in July on Lifetime Real Women and featured as judges Duke Ellington Orchestra alum Gregory Charles Royal, National Symphony Orchestra Violinist Marissa Regni, and Ex-Kittie bassist Talena Atfield.

The first season can be viewed as a podcast at americashotmusician.org and a nationwide campaign is underway to re-air the entire first season on public channels throughout the United States beginning early 2009.
