The Levitas Bros. latest release 'Round Midnight (Flying Levi) explores Thelonious Monk's seminal “'Round Midnight" as classical variations where the theme is followed by three freely composed variations. Each track is focused on one particular part from Monk's classic song.

About Eugene Levitas

Critically acclaimed composer and IMA (Independent Music Awards) winner Eugene Levitas belongs to a new generation of young composers. He is fluent in the diverse languages of classical, contemporary, jazz, electronic and even pop/rock music. Eugene's compositions and arrangements can be heard in concert halls, CD recordings, theaters and on television.

Levitas' concert music has been performed by many leading orchestras and artists including the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Chamber Orchestra, Württemberg Chamber Orchestra of Heilbronn, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Arena Di Verona Orchestra, Moscow Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, Chen Zimbalista, Yuri Bashmet and Moscow Soloists, Alex and Daniel Gurfinkel, Sharon Rostorf-Zamir and many others.

As a film composer, Levitas scored acclaimed documentaries such as Human Weapon by Ilan Ziv for ARTE channel, Rescue Helicopters (Gold Award in the Houston International Film Festival) directed by Elan Frank for National Geographic, Star Trek - The Next Generation trailer for Star World TV.

As a producer and arranger Eugene Levitas has been involved in many multi platinum and gold records by leading Israeli artists such as Rita, Shlomo Artzi and Rami Kleinstein.

About Dmitry Levitas

Dmitry Levitas is a critically acclaimed classical trumpet player. He has been awarded prizes and recognitions in various national and international competitions and during his career served as principal & 1st trumpet in leading orchestras in Israel and Ukraine including Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra in Kiev. Since 2004 Dmitry has been the principal trumpet of the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra. During his career he has performed more than a thousand concerts around a globe with such world class conductors as Zubin Mehtha, Kurt Mazur, Claudio Abbado and others. In addition to his orchestra experience, he has had an extensive solo career.

As a soloist, he has performed a wide range of music styles, from baroque to modern classical, from chamber music to solos with an orchestra. In addition to classical music, Dmitry has a passion for other musical styles including pop, rock, and Jazz, which he is exploring with his band Levitas Bros. Together with his brother Eugene Levitas they have recorded three albums.
