Leroy Jones will be performing on ABC26/WGNO's “Good Morning New Orleans" show tomorrow morning Wednesday March 18 between 6:15 and 7:00 AM. The band will consist of Leroy Jones, Todd Duke, Mitchell Player, and Bunchy Johnson and they will be performing songs from Leroy's new album “Sweeter Than A Summer Breeze". The CD was released on Valentine's Day 2009 and has received a lot of positive attention all around the world.

Leroy Jones has been a central figure in New Orleans' jazz scene since the mid-seventies and continuously expands and refines his musicianship in ways that manifest his multifaceted talent. Having worked with brass bands, traditional and modern jazz outfits, big bands, R&B and Top40 groups, and gospel and blues ensembles, Jones is not only known for his trumpet playing but also his composing, arranging, and singing.

“This collection of music [Sweeter Than A Summer Breeze] is a great combination of great playing and writing, a romantic journey through our musical history, and a brave look at some of our current events. Through it all, this CD is one of the most enjoyable listening experiences I've had in a long time. I have no doubt that this CD will become one of the few that will withstand the test of time." Terence Blanchard, liner notes

“Sweeter Than A Summer Breeze" is available at Louisiana Music Factory, CDBaby, iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster, Amazon.com and other download sites.

The “Good Morning New Orleans" show will be featuring local musicians under the wings of Sweet Home New Orleans on weekly basis throughout the spring. Sweet Home New Orleans is a non-profit agency that offers social services and financial assistance to the city’s musicians, Mardi Gras Indians, and Social Aid & Pleasure Club members. Sweet Home’s mission is to support the individuals and organizations that will perpetuate New Orleans’ unique musical and cultural traditions.
