Legendary Jazz Radio Host Bob Parlocha Passes Away

Bob Parlocha, host of the WFMT radio network's Jazz Satellite Network passed away on Sunday, March 15 at the age of 76. “Jazz with Bob Parlocha" has been a part of our overnight jazz programming for the last several years. In addition to hosting the Jazz Network, Parlocha was a tenor and saxophonist, host of the Dinner Jazz Show on San Francisco public radio station KJAZ and later the station's music director. He was also a passionate gourmet cook.

Officials from WFMT have stated that the network will be working toward having additional new voices and hosts in the near future. In the meantime, archived episodes of the program will continue to run. “Jazz With Bob Parlocha" can be heard weeknights, Saturday and Sunday evenings from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on FM 90.7 WVAS.
