The Label Love series is back with Vol. 5: The Jazz Edition. The compilation includes brand new Jazz tracks, classics and a reissue from labels Tru Thoughts, Impossible Ark, Gondwana Records, Jazzman, Edition Records, Katalyst Entertainment, Revive Music Group, and Basho Records. Each track from Vol. 5 will be featured as the AllAboutJazz Download of the Day starting in December!

The Jazz Edition is the fifth volume in the free Label Love series, compiled by Jasmine De La Paz (aka Jazz) of Tru Thoughts Recordings. The 15-track compilation combines well known with up and coming artists from around the World, with the goal of expanding minds to the many sides and sounds of the Jazz spectrum.

Album opener The Chosen provides a soulful vocal Jazz cut from Menagerie - a new spiritual Jazz project from Australian producer and Tru Thoughts recording artist Lance Ferguson (best known for his work under The Bamboos moniker).

Impossible Ark Records provides three tracks, notably the dynamic, intimate vocals from Sara Mitra on April Song - featuring a slew of talented musicians from the UK underground Jazz scene such as Tim Giles, Riaan Vosloo, and James Allsopp (who are also featured on this compilation).

The beautiful, cosmic, modal Jazz from trumpeter Matthew Halsall on Fletcher Moss Park is reminiscent of John and Alice Coltrane (taken from his recent Gondwana release of the same name).

Greg Foat's spacey Girl and Robot With Flowers Pt. 5 is a sneak peak of his upcoming full- length release on Jazzman Records titled, Girl and Robot With Flowers. The compilation later features a melancholic spiritual Jazz tune from the Norwegian 70's group That's Why (also released on Jazzman).

Edition Records recording artists’ Ivo Neame and Troyka – who aren't afraid to step out of old boundaries and explore new forms– each provide amazing, forward thinking compositions to Label Love.

LA based Jazz vocal master Dwight Trible boast deep, expressive melodies on Hyku For Peace / Come Ye; taken from his latest release, Cosmic out now on Katalyst Entertainment. Bassist and rising star, Gizmo brings a chilled-out jazz and hip-hop hybrid tune, “Red Balloon" - while Basho Records' Kit Downes closes the compilation with a floating piano lullaby, 'Skip James.’

Whether you are a Jazz aficionado, or are new to the genre, we hope you find something on Label Love Vol. 5: The Jazz Edition that will expand your minds to the magical genre of Jazz and its many forms.
