KUDZU began as an off-the-cuff studio-based collaboration between keyboardist Wayne Horvitz and electronicist Tucker Martine. They messed around with loops and samples and sequences, and soon brought in some of their many colorful and talented friends to help expand Kudzu's palette. Some of the resulting sketches were sent to Terminus Records down in Atlanta, GA. They dug Kudzu's ingenious directions, and gave them a budget to flesh out their visions. As I write this, Kudzu is on course to finish a record, and are looking forward to their 6/21/02 world-premier performance at Seattle's I-Spy with a bunch of great guests, and special opening acts Larkspur & DJ Saxton.
