This gala concert at Yoshi's is the official Bay Area party for Kitty Margolis' new CD, and an exclusive opportunity to catch this extremely popular singer live in her home town. On her provocative new Mad-Kat release, Kitty Margolis celebrates the idealism and irony, humor and poignancy of Left Coast Life, bringing a distinctly 21st century sensibility to her eclectic repertoire of modern jazz and pop standards and originals, including songs by Tom Waits, Pink Floyd, Randy Newman, Bob Dorough and Dave Frishberg.

Widely regarded as one of the most visionary and versatile vocal improvisers of her generation, this recording spotlights Margolis' mastery of time, tone and timbre as well as her ability to delve into the core of a lyric with breathtaking emotional intelligence and enormous wit.
