In early June, the KIM RICHMOND CONCERT JAZZ ORCHESTRA performed at Hollywood & Highland for the 2009 KJAZZ Wine & Jazz Series. The enthusiastic audience was near capacity.

The Orchestra presented several new works by composer/arranger Richmond as well as selections from its recordings, Grammy-nominated “Refractions" and “Passages."

Alto and soprano saxophonist Kim Richmond was a member of the faculty of a new summer jazz camp at the University of Nebraska, Omaha on June 14-19. The teaching staff made up the Jim Widner Big Band.

One of the performing jazz attractions at the Aroma Spring Jazz Festival in Idylwild will be the Brad Dutz group called “The Other Three." Dutz is on drums and percussion, Kim Richmond on saxophones and John Fumo is on trumpet. The title of the group alludes to the 1954 Shelly Manne group “The Three" which included Jimmy Guiffre and Shorty Rogers.

Kim Richmond is one of the performing musicians at BAKER YEOMANS FOUNDATION's JAZZ AT THE RIVER, a jazz festival near Boise, Idaho. The Baker Yeomans Foundation for the Arts is a non-profit organization created to promote the live performance and education of performing and visual arts. The Foundation raises money through events like Jazz At The River to help artists in various performing and visual art disciplines continue their education.
