Bube's Brewery Presents Jazz Under the Stars

Summer is the ultimate season for spending evenings outdoors and those dusky hours get even better when there’s live music involved. On Friday, August 25th, Bube's Brewery, is presenting a spectacular alfresco entertainment venue, Jazz Under The Stars, in its outdoor Biergarten. Jazz Under The Stars will highlight music from the “Great American Songbook”. On tap for the evening is Philadelphia’s own jazz vocalist Kevin Valentine as he brings his style to the works of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, Johnny Hartman and others. Admission is free.

Enjoy an evening of ageless songs from celebrated composers and songwriters. Featuring Kirk Reese on piano and Mike Evangelista on bass, this is a wonderful evening of truly unforgettable American classics. Dinner menu, small plates, Bube’s homemade artisan beer, soft drinks and top shelf liquor and cocktails served up by Mike, Bube’s award winning bartender are available. Three sets will run from 8pm-11pm and will proceed regardless of the weather. If it rains, the show will be held inside at the Alois Ballroom.

The Biergarten Restaurant is an outdoor Biergarten reminiscent of a drinking garden one may have found in Mr. Bube’s Bavarian homeland. In the middle of the Biergarten is the huge original boiler and smokestack used to create the steam power necessary to run the brewery.

Jazz Under The Stars is part the Alois Speakeasy Jazz Series which occurs every fourth Friday (third Friday in October). Future Speakeasy events will include a tribute to the Nat Cole Trio, various jazz ensembles and a big band. Stay tuned.

Jazz Under The Stars sponsors include WRTI, Your Classical and Jazz Choice.
