Jowee Omicil
This is a show you don't want to miss. Saxophone and winds master Jowee Omicil is in possession of what is simply one of the most soothing, soulful and spiritual sounds that his instruments of choice have ever rendered.

The Montreal-born musician of Haitian descent had the distinct honor of being invited to perform for the White House’s inaugural observation of Haitian Flag Day on May 18, sharing the enveloping sound of his alto and soprano saxophones and clarinet for 150 VIP guests. The son of a father who was both a minister and professor of philosophy, Jowee (pronounced “Joey”) believes his calling to music has a higher purpose. Equally inspired by the folk melodies of his culture, the freedom of jazz, the reverence of gospel and all manner of soul-replenishing groove, Jowee stirs it all together into an irresistible brew.

Guitarist Mawuena Kodjovi was born in Paris but spent his entire childhood in Togo (West Africa) his father’s homeland. Back in Paris, he studied music theory and specialized in Jazz. Upon arrival in the USA in 1998, Mawuena met the Great Babatunde Olatunji, and became his musical assistant for five years. Mawuena is not only a guitarist. He’s a multi instrumentalist who can also play Bass, Piano, Drums, Percussion…and sing!

Drummer and Guadeloupe native Steve Belvilus holds a bachelor's degree in music performance at The City college of New York. He previously studied classical music in Europe and he graduated in Literature and classical music in France. He also passed his DEUG I in musicology from the Sorbonne. Steve has toured in major festivals nationwide and internationally and has collaborated with many artists in the USA, in different genres (soul, jazz, gospel, pop-rock, afro beat) and holds also credits on albums which are on major record labels.

Bassist James Quinlan graduated from the University of Miami with a BFA in Studio Music under the tutelage of of Donald Coffman and Charles Bergeron. James thrives in all cultures. This led to him playing in a variety of groups from symphony to salsa, jazz to world, rock to hip-hop, and everything in between.
