Atlanta, GA-Atlanta's brilliant trumpeter, Joey Sommerville has signed with Three Keys Music, headed by Marcus Johnson and distributed by Koch Distribution. Joey's latest album, “Like You Mean It" will be released worldwide on May 12th. The CD's title track is an infectious Latin flavored party jam that has rocketed up to become the second most-added song to jazz station playlists nationwide. The song made waves high on the Indie jazz chart, catching the attention of industry insiders including Johnson. He considers Sommerville to be incredibly talented, humble and a hardworking pro. “Joey is a great musician and he understands the new music business model. His talent, tremendous work ethic and drive have allowed him to create a truly incredible album," said Johnson.

“Like You Mean It" is more than a title, it is a philosophy and code of conduct. “Whatever you do, do it like you mean it!" says the artist. The album is a labor of love that is both passionate and a whole lot of fun at the same time. Notable collaborators include Wayman Tisdale on the Average White Band classic, “School Boy Crush"; Mike Phillips playing his heart out on the quiet storm ready instrumental version of Floetry's “Say Yes"; Marion Meadows lending his signature sax sound to “Follow Me" and Phil Perry going where no other vocalist can go on “Reflections". Other standout songs include “Johannesburg" which was recorded in part in Johannesburg with South African musicians and singers and “I Want You Back", a fresh read on The Jackson 5 classic.

Atlanta's Smooth Jazz 107.5 WJZZ has placed “Like You Mean It" in heavy radio rotation; they broadcast Joey's live performances every Thursday night at Sambuca Jazz Caf. Each week features a special guest performer from a rotating list of jazz giants. Past guests include internationally celebrated artists such as the legendary Ronnie Laws, Wayman Tisdale, Marion Meadows, Mike Phillips, Eric Marienthal, Paul Taylor, Peabo Bryson, and keyboard legend and producer Jeff Lorber.

As part of his release celebration, Joey is traveling to Washington D.C. to perform several appearances as a special guest of Marcus Johnson. Visit his website joeysommerville.com for tour dates and details.
