About the Artists
Grammy nominated guitarist/producer Joe Taylor has become a chart topping fixture on the contemporary jazz charts. His virtuosity on the instrument has come partially from an extensive background touring with a number of well known artists and producers. He has worked with everyone from Ahmet Ertegun to Dave Koz, Donna Summer to Emmylou Harris, and the list goes on. Joe was also a staff producer for RCA/Victor where he had great success with his solo releases as well as the trance/ambient series Oracle.
Sean O'Bryan Smith's career is much like Thunder and Taylor in that it has transcended genres. The seasoned session bassist and solo artist has earned praise from around the globe for his premiered solo CD Tapestry" and has been seen performing or recording with some of the top jazz artists in the industry including Rick Braun, Larry Carlton, Gerald Albright, Randy Brecker, Chuck Loeb, Anna Wilson, and Frank Catalano. The Nashville based Smith continues to juggle a successful session career as well recording for major artists including Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts, and more. Tony Thunder" Smith is a drum icon in multiple genres. His ability to morph into various musical stylings has led him into composing for TV and Film as well as his long running position as drummer for rock icon Lou Reed. His technical ability made him a legend in the jazz realm as a founding member of the Jan Hammer Group as well as a stint with John McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra. Currently, Tony continues to tour and record with various artists as well as passing on his talents at Berklee College of Music.
Taylor, Smith, and Thunder is a culmination of many decades worth of experience coupled with the ability to traverse nearly every musical genre. The common ground between these three artists is sure to be something not to be missed.
