A group of diverse musicians assemble to form the group Joan Torres's All is Fused and perform his new original Modern Jazz Fusion tunes on the album Before

Bassist and composer Joan Torres got into music at a young age. After getting the best out of most of the music he could listen to on the radio or through his family and friends, he began to personally explore further into the music world.

Throughout the years he has gained experience in a many areas and genres including Salsa, Rock, Reggae, Latin Jazz, Funk, Fusion, Jazz, Classical Choir music and even Brazilian Capoeira music. He has collaborated with many musicians of all ages and styles, and has been influenced by many of them.

He attended the Berklee in Puerto Rico program for a few years and was awarded a scholarship to attend the Berklee Five-Week Summer Performance Program. There he was awarded a Full-Time Scholarship. Through this experience he met and studied with many world-renowned musicians like Oscar Stagnaro and Matthew Garrison.

Through his musical endeavors he has met and collaborated with many great musicians in different settings. One worth mentioning is the group Raices Rusticas, with which he has been playing for years. The diversity of the musicians and their jazz influence is heard clearly in their Reggae with Lounge sound. It is evident that Joan Torres keeps an open mind when it comes to fusing different styles and musicians. Therefore, when the time arrived to form his own group to perform and record his music, he already knew which musicians to choose to get the sound he wanted. This is how Joan Torres's All is Fused is born.

Before, the debut album by Joan Torres's All is Fused features an ensemble of very talented musicians from the Puerto Rico scene. The way they come together and perform these tunes shows great respect and enthusiasm for the vision of Joan Torres, who composed all the music and produced the album.

The group gathered for two live recording sessions on January 10 and 11, 2012. The location for the sessions was Playbach Studio, a local studio where a variety of artists from Puerto Rico make their records. The engineers who worked on this album were multi- grammy winning Ramon Martinez and Carlos Velazquez. The mastering was handled by David Rodriguez.
