Musical Genius is best used to describe JJ Sansaverino and his debut release “Sunshine after Midnight." Join Sansaverino and his high energy, electrifying 11-piece ensemble for a night of jazz infused groove and R&B flavors, sprinkled with ala Hendrix and Santana spices. They will mix this recipe into an entree that will delight your palette. JJ puts forward a stunning selection of his original compositions, with the help of powerhouse producers Alex Valenti (NYC) and Zé Luis Oliveira (Rio de Janeiro). JJ has fused jazz, urban beats, and Brazilian flavor with fresh horn arrangements, giving the album a radio-friendly, street-savvy sound with a virtuosic edge. Over the past several years, guitarist Joe “JJ" Sansaverino has reached millions with his music, touring the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa, Asia, the South Pacific and the Caribbean. He has worked with the best in the business in a wide range of idioms, both live and in the studio, and has appeared on hundreds of recordings.

We always are wondering where all the talented musicians are. We know many of them are backing name acts and J.J. Sansaverino is on that list. He co-wrote every track here, which shows his natural grasp of guitar. There is nothing phony or forced about this album, which is a plus.

Karl Stober, Jazz Review

Accompanied by a cast of very exclusive and talented sounds Mr. Sansaverino has presented one of the finer works I have been subjected to in 2005. Upbeat and hot in feel, daring and adventurous in style, “Sunshine After Midnight" will exceed most knowledgeable jazz fans expectations.
