“Shop of Wild Dreams is original, soulful, entirely unpredictable - call it jazz as that's the only genre big enough to contain it but listen for influences from East European choral singing to roots American country gospel, experimental jazz to to deep groovin' funky hip hop beats. “ Sarah Townes, Boulder Voiceworks

“While she is not afraid to get her hair in a tangle, this bandleader puts the accent on melody and the remote-control imperative that drives the tapping of your helpless toe.” Greg Burk, LA Weekly

“Playing saxophone and accordion as well as vocalizing, Jessica Lurie wears many hats in this adventurous but melodic group." Nate Chinen, New York Times

A brand new CD from instrumentalist/composer Jessica Lurie, featuring her band of Todd Sickafoose and Allison Miller (of Ani DiFranco's current line-up), with Charlie Hunter keyboardist Erik Deutsch and genius banjo and guitarist Brandon Seabrook. Additional special guests on the CD include saxophonist Tina Richerson and percussionist Elizabeth Pupo-Walker from the Tiptons Sax Quartet. Jessica is joined at the Brooklyn Lyceum by Sickafoose, Miller, and Seabrook, with Art Hirahara subbing fro Erik Deutsch on piano.
