University of Kentucky Jazztet will present an evening of musical entertainment as UK faculty and graduate students unite for a free public jazz music recital at 7:30 pm on Thursday October 2, in the Singletary Center for the Arts Recital Hall.
This UK faculty recital features the quartet comprised of Miles Osland on woodwinds, Raleigh Dailey on piano, Danny Cecil on bass and John Willmarth on drums. The members of the quartet, all associated with UK, have performed both nationally and internationally.
Formed in 2006, UK Jazztet performs original music interwoven with reinventions of classical jazz creating a combination of traditional jazz with hints of fusion and free improvisation. Additionally, the ensemble is currently working to release a studio recording in the spring of 2009.
