Toronto, Ontario -- JAZZ.FM91's Mobile App has surpassed 100,000 downloads after its launch just over 5 months ago.

The application, available free of charge from the iTunes Store, offers jazz fans worldwide the ability to stream content live from Canada's Premier Jazz station on their iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. Trending reports show that a significant number of downloads come from outside of North America, including Europe and Asia.

Part of JAZZ.FM91's mandate is to showcase Canadian jazz talent and develop jazz in Canada through information, education and entertainment. The JAZZ.FM91 App has proven to be an exciting new platform to help the station meet these goals.

“I am delighted we have jazz fans from around the world listening to what we do out of Toronto. Jazz has universal appeal and JAZZ.FM91 continues to lead the way in both programming and new technology," said Ross Porter, President and CEO.

JAZZ.FM91 is constantly sourcing out new and innovative ways to bring jazz to the world, and looks forward to continuing to provide listeners around the globe with the most current and convenient vehicles to interact with the station as part of their daily life.

JAZZ.FM91 has been called “One of the Best Radio Stations in the World" by BusinessWeek, and is Canada's only registered not-for-profit radio station dedicated to the jazz community and music education. JAZZ.FM91 can be heard live on the air at 91.1FM, streamed online at jazz.fm, or listened to on the iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch with the free JAZZ.FM91 App.
