Detroit, Michigan-June 30, 2004: New York based vocalist Sue Giles and her trio featuring pianist Harry Whitaker will promote her debut CD release, With Love From Sue with a performance at Baker's Keyboard in Detroit at 9:00pm Saturday evening, July 17, 2004. She is also scheduled to appear as an on-air interview guest (with possible live performance) on WEMU 89.1FM on Saturday afternoon. Her pre-CD release performance in Detroit marks her sole Midwest appearance during her East Coast tour and will include giveaways of CDs, promotional items and special guests. Ms. Giles is also currently a semi-finalist in the 2004 Jazzconnect Vocal Competition, whose finalists will appear in concerts to be held in Washington D.C. in winter 2005.

Ms. Giles, a vocalist and artist manager on the New York jazz scene for several years, has performed and mentored with jazz luminaries Harold Mabern, Barry Harris and David Durrah, vocalists Marion Cowlings and Andy Bey, trumpet and flugelhorn artist Joe Magnarelli, saxophonist Jerry Weldon and pianist Harry Whitaker. She has performed at the Blue Note, Iridium, Birdland, Smoke, Detour, Kavehaz, Arthur's Tavern, and Arturo's in New York. In addition, she is the president of gilesJazz, a management and recording entity in NYC that provides management services for new jazz artists via barter exchange, conducts music listening workshops for children, and educates young women entrepreneurs interested in learning more about independent production, promotion, marketing and distribution.

Her lush and sultry vocals, “..offer an enthusiastic tribute to both Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn, tossing in playful scats, flirty dips and low octave drops. Her performance is lively, animated and accentuated with a purely innocent and girlish quality that distinguishes her from other singers. It's a spirited time." Donna Kimura, www.jazzreview.com.

The self-produced debut CD, With Love From Sue, contains original vocal compositions co-written by Ms. Giles, Mr. Durrah, Mr. Whitaker and Mr. Magnarelli. The CD makes its premiere on August 12, 2004 with a CD release party and performance in New York. The release features Harry Whitaker (piano), Noriko Ueda (bass), Peter Reztlaff and Joe Strasser (drums), Joe Magnarelli, (trumpet/flugelhorn), and special guests David Durrah (piano) and Chuggy Carter (percussion).

Each live concert performance will feature selections from her CD as well as original compositions and new arrangements of lesser known jazz standards. Promotional CDs for her new release will be available for distribution. Her CD release will also be available for purchase at amazon.com and cdbaby.com, and advance orders will be accepted via her website, www.sugiles.com after July 21, 2004.
