The Painted Bride Art Center in collaboration with the Philadelphia Fund For Jazz Legacy & Innovation have designated Jazz Near You a grant recipient to fund a Jazz New Year promotional campaign in the Philadelphia metropolitan region.

“I'd like to thank the Painted Bride Art Center, the Philadelphia Jazz Project and the Philadelphia Foundation for their ongoing support of Jazz Near You. It's a tremendous honor and the grant will go a long way in helping us raise the awareness of Jazz Near You to both fans and professionals in the Delaware Valley," stated All About Jazz and Jazz Near You Founder, Michael Ricci. “With Jazz Appreciation Month in April, Jazz Near You Philadelphia activity has increased by 30% over the last three weeks and we expect continued growth moving forward as an increasing number of presenters, musicians and fans become aware of Jazz Near You and how it can directly support their promotional efforts."

Ricci continued, “Jazz Near You Philadelphia is the second most active Jazz Near You website of the 250 Jazz Near You websites worldwide. The fact that it is more active than Los Angeles and Chicago indicates word of mouth has been much more effective here. With money awarded to Jazz Near You by the Philadelphia Foundation, we now have the ability to build awareness in venues, hotels, and other physical spaces beyond the internet."

Our growth locally has been a combined effort and the primary champions have included the Jazz Bridge, All About Jazz and the Philadelphia Jazz Project.

“As we continue to propel jazz forward, we need to tackle some of the challenges that our jazz community is facing, with profit and not-for-profit entities such as the Philadelphia Jazz Project. Artists, entrepreneurs and grant funders must interact, collaborate and think outside of the box," says Homer Jackson, Director of the Philadelphia Jazz Project. “Collaborating with Jazz Near You is a step in that direction. I am excited to be a part of sharing the word about Jazz Near You locally and proud that it is a home-grown, Philadelphia-area resource and business."
