The Jazz Bridge third Wednesdays, Neighborhood Concerts Series in Media at the Unitarian Universalist Church—145 West Rose Tree Road in Media—presents pianist Tom Adams and his trio on Wednesday, January 15. Showtime is 7:30 p.m., tickets are $10/$5 for students, and are only available at the door. For info: 215-517-8337.

Tom Adams, who has worked with everyone from Anita O'Day and Bette Midler to Mel Torme and Coolio, is a wonderfully inventive, sensitive and swinging pianist who often recalls the classic stylings of giants like Art Tatum and Oscar Peterson. Accompanied on this performance by bassist Andy Lalasis and drummer Grant MacAvoy, Adams has, for decades, been particularly in demand as an accompanist for a wide range of vocalists, and for his abilities as a composer, frequently in collaboration on recordings and television with actress/singer Cybil Shepherd.

The Jazz Bridge Neighborhood Concerts Series is partially funded by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Philadelphia Jazz Project, Philadelphia Fund for Jazz Legacy and Innovation of the Philadelphia Foundation, and Painted Bride Arts Center. Jazz Bridge, a 501C public charity that assists area jazz and blues musicians in crisis, is sponsoring this performance in Media as well as 40 other events this season on five area stages in the Greater Delaware Valley.
