Jazz Bridge Presents Latin Jazz Artist Suzzette Ortiz at the Collingswood Community Center on April 7th

Appearing at the Collingswood Community Center, 30 E. Collings Ave, in Collingswood, NJ, on April 7th, 2011 will be pianist Suzzette Ortiz with her band, featuring bassist Rob Hagopian, saxophonist Frank Machos, and drummer Francios Zayas. Latin jazz artist Suzzette Ortiz, hailing from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, is a gifted pianist, singer, arranger and composer, who studied with the piano master teachers Jimmy Amadei and Cesar “Pupi" Pedroso (from the renowned Cuban ensemble Los Van—Van) and, in the past, she has been an in-demand opener on tour for the late Tito Puente, Compay Segundo (Buena Vista Social Club), Eddie Palmieri, and Hilton Ruiz. Ortiz has headlined locally at Zanzibar Blue, West Oak Lane Jazz Festival, Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, Cape May Jazz Festival, Chicken Bone Beach Jazz Festival, Robin Hood Dell East, Mann Music Center, and the Wilmington Opera House and at the “La Paz" Jazz Festival in Bolivina and the Per Cuba Jazz Festival in Cuba. She has a CD coming out and will be playing new compositions from her new project!
