International Acoustic Music Awards (IAMA) Deadline Approaching

The 4th Annual IAMA's deadline is fast approaching; you have a few days left to enter! IAMA promotes excellence in Acoustic Music Performance and Artistry. Acoustic artists in various genres can gain exciting radio and web exposure through this competition. Participating sponsors include D'Addario Strings, New Music Weekly, Loggins Promotion, Airplay Only, Sonicbids.com, Acoustic Caf Radio Show and XM Satellite Radio.

IAMA is open to all independent artists and labels. Unlike other music industry competitions, IAMA focuses on developing new markets for Acoustic artists, labels and with or without CD releases. Past year's winners include Fertitta and McClintock, Judith de los Santos, Jon Troast, Mistin (Australia), The Trapps, Eric Roberts, Jon Black, Betsy Foster and more.

Win prizes in 8 different categories: Folk/Americana/Roots, AAA/Alternative, Instrumental, Open, Bluegrass, Best Male Artist, Best Female Artist, Best Group/Duo. There will also be an Overall Grand Prize winner awarded to the top winner worth over US$11,000, which includes radio promotion to over 250 radio stations in US and Canada. Winning songs will be heard on radio! Winners and runner-ups will be featured on our CD compilation. Also, we feature up to 10 different artists get featured and promoted on IAMA website every month, which provides a review, ratings, CD information and more.

Judging is based on excellence in music performance, songwriting/composition/song choice, Music Production and originality. (Please note that IAMA is a different competition from USA Songwriting Competition).

Past Winners and Finalists' Updates
Kate Voegele (1st Prize winner, Pop, 2005 USA Songwriting Competition) is currently signed to MySpace/Interscope records.

Michele Vice-Maslin (1st Prize winner 2002 & 2003 USA Songwriting Competition) has a slew of new outlets for her songs and productions with tunes on Guiding Light (CBS); Newport Harbor (MTV); and the webshow Hampton High. On the record front, Chosen Girls, an inspirational rock band with a debut released through Song/BMG features songs by Vice-Maslin written with collaborators Amy Powers and Dorian Cheah. Also in stores is another new CD by female heavy metal rockers Meldrum titled Blowin’ Up the Machine, featuring Vice-Maslin co-writes.

Ari Hest (2002 USA Songwriting Competition Honorable Mention Winner) was a recent “live" guest on Acoustic Cafe Radio Program. Ari is currently signed to Columbia records.

Jonathan Kingham (Overall Grand Prize 2000 USA Songwriting Competition winner) recently toured with Julio Iglesias Jr and Glen Phillips of Toad the Wet Sprocket.

*Jen Foster (1st Prize winner, Gospel of 2005 USA Songwriting Competition) had her song “Seize The Moment" placed in the LOGO Channel's Suzanne Westenhoefer Special.

Radio Disney has added Sue Fabisch's song “I Don't Think About It" (sung by Emily Osment) to their request list. To help Sue get some spins on the song, just go to www.RadioDisney.com and towards the top on the right, scroll over the GREEN tab that says SPEAK and click “Request a Song". Scroll down to E for Emily Osment and click on “I Don't Think About It". Sue Fabisch won 1st Prize in the country category in 2003 of the USA Songwriting Competition as well as an honorable mention award the same year.

Eric Roberts (1st Prize Winner (Open/AOG Category) of the 3rd Annual IAMA (International Acoustic Music Awards) has his song “Cella's Song" on heavy rotation on Sirius Channel 73.
