Guitarist Paul Caraher performs both as a solo one-man-band and also as a duo named Funkatronic with his brother, Justin, who plays drums. Growing up in Nashville, the two relocated to Rhode Island six years ago and have independently released two cds: Caraher (2002) and Up From the Underground (2006). In a review of Caraher in an issue of Jazz Improv, Winthrop Bedford says: “The album features three originals by Paul Caraher ... and both brothers show a level of harmonic sophistication, and mastery of their various instruments that offers promise for the future." As a solo one-man-band, Paul plays a mix of originals and some jazz standards by Miles Davis and Charlie Parker. Similar to Keller Williams, Paul loops several parts entirely live and in the moment, gradually building a textured and full sound. More information on Paul Caraher at the website below.
