The Jazz Bridge second Wednesdays, Neighborhood Concerts Series at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion 2110 Chestnut Street in Center City Philadelphia presents guitarist Larry Tamanini on Wednesday, November 13th. The one word that has always applied to the style of guitarist Larry Tamanini is smokin', which was the title of one of his well-received CDs. Indeed, his jazz guitar mentors, with include giants like Pat Martino and Dennis Sandole, have helped define that description Serving his apprenticeship at the famed Ortieb's Jazzhaus via working with legends like Trudy Pitts, Mickey Roker and Joey DeFrancesco, Tamanini began to grow as a jazz player, particularly in the classic organ trio setting. Indeed, he'll be backed in this Jazz Bridge performance by organist Lucas Brown and Anwar Marshall on drums.

The Jazz Bridge Neighborhood Concerts Series is partially funded by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Philadelphia Jazz Project, Philadelphia Fund for Jazz Legacy and Innovation of the Philadelphia Foundation, and Painted Bride Arts Center. Jazz Bridge, a 501C public charity that assists area jazz and blues musicians in crisis, is sponsoring this performance in Center City Philadelphia as well as 40 other events this season on five area stages in the Greater Delaware Valley.
