NEWPORT, RI - If you’re looking for the perfect holiday surprise or a special treat for yourself, give the gift of jazz. Present family and friends with tickets to the 2013 Newport Jazz Festival, which is set for August 2-4. The Newport Festivals Foundation, Inc. is once again offering special discount tickets for the Fort Adams events priced at just $50.00 for the holiday season.

The $50.00 tickets (regularly $74.00 in advance) can be used for General Admission to concerts at Fort Adams State Park on either Saturday or Sunday, so there is no need to decide now which day to attend. These tickets, which will be available December 1 through December 31, may be purchased in person at the Newport and Bristol County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), 23 America’s Cup Avenue in Newport. Offer not valid on reserved seats or for the Friday evening concert at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Holiday discount tickets will also be available on-line for a limited time. For more information regarding the on-line offer, visit the festival website at newportjazzfest.net and subscribe to the festival e-newsletter.

“Once again, we’re pleased to give area residents the opportunity to share the joy of jazz with family and friends at this special price during the holiday season, ” said Wein. “This is the third year that we have made the $50.00 tickets available, and we’re pleased that several thousand people have taken advantage of the discount.”
