What: Giants of Jazz 11, Honoring 2008 Jazz Master Honoree Slide Hampton

Celebrating 11 years of a phenomenal jazz concerts! This one-night concert The New York Times hails as New Jerseys premier jazz festival will be held at the South Orange Middle School. This years Jazz Master Honoree is Grammy Award winner Slide Hampton, an internationally renowned trombonist, composer and arranger who will perform with a host of other phenomenal jazz musicians. Past recipients include such renowned musicians as Jimmy Heath, James Moody, Clark Terry, Frank Wess, Benny Powell, Dr. Billy Taylor, and Frank Foster.

When: Saturday, October 11, 2008, 7:30 p.m.

Where: Presented by The Baird at South Orange Middle School, 70 North Ridgewood Road in South Orange, NJ 07079

Price: Ticket prices are $35/advance; $40 at door; $30 for students with ID and seniors.
