Free Online Support Group For Jazz Musicians Struggling With COVID-19-Related Stresses

Announcing a free online support group for jazz musicians struggling with the financial, family, and other COVID-19-related stresses. The group will meet at a time that is mutually convenient and run for an hour over ZOOM. The group will meet for 4 consecutive weeks with the possibility of continuing after that if there is a consensus to do so. June 26, 2020 Update

Steve Demby, psychologist and amateur jazz pianist, is facilitating a free virtual meeting for jazz musicians to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on work, creativity, relationships, finances, parenting, and recreation. Steve will discuss strategies to maintain personal and creative well-being during the pandemic and facilitate group discussion.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 1, from 3-4 pm. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you plan to attend, and Steve will send you a ZOOM link to the meeting.

About Steven Demby, Ph.D.

Dr. Demby is a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst in independent practice with offices in Chelsea and Cobble Hill, Brooklyn. He offers individual psychotherapy and support groups with adults. He has many years of experience and has advanced training in psychotherapy and psychoanalysis. In addition to teaching and supervising therapists-in-training, he has given many professional presentations and published several articles in the field. Dr. Demby is interested in the creative process and working with artists experiencing creative blocks. He is an amateur jazz pianist.
