"First Tuesdays" - Free Professional Development Seminars for Musicians at Saint Peter's in NYC

Chamber Music America Announces its 2007-08 Series
In collaboration with Midtown Arts Common and
The Jazz Ministry at Saint Peter's


New York, NY - August 28, 2007 -- Chamber Music America (CMA) today announced the 2007-08 schedule for “First Tuesdays," its annual series of professional development seminars for jazz and classical musicians. The seminars will be presented in collaboration with Midtown Arts Common and the Jazz Ministry at Saint Peter's in New York City.

Free of charge, the eight seminars will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Saint Peter's Church (619 Lexington Avenue at 54th Street) on the first Tuesday of the month, September through May.

Seminar topics include advice on preparing grant applications, post-production for recordings, and getting management. On May 6, a “Publicity Fair" will give musicians the opportunity to ask specific questions of public relations professionals and to get some tips on improving their press materials.

Chamber Music America, the national service organization for the ensemble music profession, was founded in 1977 to promote artistic excellence and the economic stability of the field, and to ensure that chamber music, in its broadest sense, is a vital part of American life. The Jazz Ministry at Saint Peter's was founded in 1965 and is a home for diverse individuals and communities which celebrates the dignity and vitality of jazz, provides vibrant worship and pastoral care, and through intersecting partnerships, offers jazz programs, education and services".
