FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed “Best of New York" by New York Magazine and “an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post will continue its Spring 2012 season with the return of Bistro Award-winning jazz vocalist NICOLE HENRY, who was heralded as “the vocal love-child of Whitney Houston and Sarah Vaughan" by The Miami Herald.

In her new show So Good, So Right, the uniquely gifted songstress takes her audience back to the 1970s to embrace one of the most vibrant and influential decades in popular music. Exploring the works of Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Al Green, Aretha Franklin, and many others, Nicole will be joined by an all-star quartet, featuring pianist Kevin Hays (Madeleine Peyroux, Joe Henderson), guitarist Adam Rogers (Norah Jones, Michael Brecker), bassist Vicente Archer (Robert Glasper, Deborah Cox), and drummer Clarence Penn (Betty Carter, Dianne Reeves). The show will run May 8 - May 12 at the Loews Regency Hotel (540 Park Avenue at 61st Street).

NICOLE HENRY has firmly established herself as one of the jazz world's most acclaimed and respected young vocalists. Henry's powerfully expressive, emotionally resonant voice has already earned her three international top 10 albums and a reputation as a beguiling live performer, having enchanted audiences on multiple continents. Her vibrant new album, Embraceable, finds the soulful songstress applying her sublime skills to a captivating set of songs drawn from a diverse array of sources, encompassing impressive new originals, covers of some '60s and '70s classics, and a trio of vintage jazz numbers.

A graduate of the University of Miami with a degree in Communications and Theatre, Henry got her first recording experience with dance music DJ/producer Noel Sanger, who featured her on the Top 10 Billboard track “Miracle." After being named 2002's Best Local Solo Musician by Miami New Times, Nicole began to embrace jazz, leading to the 2004 release of her debut CD, The Nearness of You, which won considerable attention from audiences and critics in both the U.S. and in Japan. The following year, her Teach Me Tonight reached #1 in Japan and was named HMV Japan's Best Vocal Jazz Album of 2005. Finally, 2008's The Very Thought of You substantially expanded her American audience, reaching #7 on Billboard's jazz chart. Its international popularity also spurred her to step up her performance schedule with successful tours of Japan (where she's toured nine times), Europe and Russia. Throughout 2009 and 2010, her monthly performances in front of sold-out crowds at Chelsea's Metropolitan Room led to winning the 2010 Bistro Award for Outstanding Jazz Vocalist.

This set the stage for her latest release, Embraceable. A departure from her prior recordings, this creative triumph matches her distinctive voice and abundant charisma with a stellar musical cast that includes saxophonist Kirk Whalum, pianist Gerald Clayton, guitarist Julian Lage, harmonica virtuoso Gregoire Maret, and Grammy-winning arranger Gil Goldstein. Helmed by Grammy-nominated producer Matt Pierson, Embraceable continues to establish Nicole as a peerless interpreter of jazz and pop standards, marking her as a rising star whose appeal transcends genre boundaries.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present NICOLE HENRY from May 8 through May 12 with the following schedule: Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 PM with additional 10:30 PM shows on Friday and Saturday evenings. All shows have a $40.00 cover with $60.00 premium seats or $75.00 upfront seats. In addition, there is a $40.00 food and beverage minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required.
