EL ECO BRAZILIAN ARGENTINE JAZZ

NEWS UPDATE: EL ECO will be appearing at FREIHOFER'S JAZZ FESTIVAL at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saturday, June 25. The festival is co-produced by George Wein and Festival Productions, and takes place in Saratoga Springs, New York.

The band's recent performance with Hendrik Meurkens at the Ryles' Jazz Club in Cambridge, MA is being considered for a national NPR broadcast on “Jazz Set" with Dee Dee Bridgewater.

EL ECO BRAZILIAN ARGENTINE JAZZ BACKGROUND

EL ECO has been around for more than a decade. The ensemble has performed at the most prestigious institutions, jazz festivals and performing arts centers.

EL ECO's band members are among the busiest and hottest jazz musicians nationally and internationally. Singer Kim Nazarian is a Grammy Award winning vocalist. She has been performing for years all over the world with New York Voices. Helio Alves is a talented pianist, most recently featured in the Brazilian record Yo-Yo Ma made. Fernando Huergo on bass recently performed with Chick Corea's drummer Jeff Ballard. Drummer and composer Guillermo Nojechowicz plays regularly with the Claudio Roditi (Dizzy Gillespie) Quintet. Saxman Dino Govoni teaches at the famous Berklee College of Music and he has performed with Randy Brecker.

EL ECO plays regularly with special guests. Most recently, the group performed with trombonist/percussionist and Grammy Award winning producer Jay Ashby (Paul Simon), trumpeter Claudio Roditi, master Brazilian percussionist Cafe (Elianne Elias), and brilliant guitarist Romero Lubambo (Yo-Yo Ma, Dianne Reeves).

EL ECO is scheduled to perform with harmonica player Hendrik Meurkens (Ivan Lins, Paquito D'Rivera) at Freihofer's Jazz Festival in upstate New York.

EL ECO’s members are from Argentina, Brazil, the United States, Cuba and Armenia.
