DOVER, Del. -- The Dover Downs Wine & Jazz Festival will return to the Rollins Center in the Dover Downs Hotel on November 1. The event will begin at noon, and will feature live jazz music, wine sampling and seminars, and cooking demonstrations. The jazz stylings of Tito Puente, Jr. will highlight the entertainment, as he performs from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the main stage.

“We are thrilled to present the second annual Dover Downs Wine & Jazz Festival. Last year's inaugural event was a huge success, and we hope to expand the event and offerings each year. There is nothing like it in Delaware," said George Fiorile, Dover Downs director of food and beverage.

A full lineup of entertainment on two stages will be featured throughout the day. Puente, Jr. and his 10-piece orchestra will perform many of the music and arrangements of his legendary father, Tito Puente, Sr. His music, a blend of pop, Latin jazz and dance, is also laced with influences of classic mambo, cha cha cha and meringue. Puente, Jr.'s version of his father's classic “Oye Como Va," and several successful albums, have earned him great acclaim.

Also featured on the main stage will be the popular Barbone Street Jazz Band from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m., joined by a cast of swing dancers. Tom Lagana, an Annapolis, Md., native and regional jazz festival favorite, will also perform on the main stage, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Live entertainment will also include the Dixie Power Trio (noon to 3 p.m.), Sketches (4 to 8 p.m.), the Linwood Battle Duo (4:40 to 8:20 p.m.) and pianist Eyrl Byassee (12:40 to 4 p.m.).
