The “Jazz Cafe Discovery Series" is booking its fall season and is looking for bands who want to perform live. All styles of Jazz are welcome! Debut performances occur most Tuesday nights on the Absopure Stage of the Jazz Cafe in the lower level of the Music Hall in downtown Detroit. Bands invited back for an encore performance are recorded and given airplay Sunday nights at 11pm on WVMV 98.7FM as well as a CD copy of their performance. Encore performances take place most Wednesday nights. Many bands go on to get regular gigs at Jazz Cafe, adding to the many benefits the series provides local musicians.

The “Jazz Cafe" is one of the best rooms for Jazz in the midwest with its perfect acoustics and intimate, elegant, art-deco style.

This series and radio program is hosted and co-produced by veteran Jazz radio personality, Judy Adams and is designed to draw out Jazz talent from the metropolitan Detroit area and give musicians more recognition and exposure. Anyone interested in auditioning for the series and radio program should contact Jazz Cafe Program Director Ted Nagy at 313-887-8532 or by email.
