Jazz Vocalist, and Former U.S. Jazz Ambassador Deborah Davis & The Blue Note Jazz Club are proud to announce the 10th Annual Jazz Benefit Concert for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The benefit has been held annually the first Monday of the year since 1998. Deborah began campaigning for the Leukemia Society in 1997 by running a marathon in Dublin Ireland with the Leukemia Society Team in Training. Deborah finished the 26.2 mile marathon, while wishing she had skates the last 8 miles . The following year she decided to enrolled in the 38 mile inline skate, but was unable to participate due to an injury. Not one to easily accept defeat Deborah soon realized that as a jazz singer she had a much better platform for raising funds. After learning that the Blue Note family also had a close link to the disease she ask them to donate the cover charge from her performances once per year to the cause. The past 10 years have generated a great deal of support for a very worthy cause. Deborah & The Blue Note continue the concerts in honor of her father Douglas E. Davis, Sr. who lost his battle with the disease in 1981, The Blue Note Family, and on behalf of all the patients and their families who are battling blood related cancers.

Deborah no longer runs marathons but now participates in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge held annually in October. Funds raised at the concert are added to her total raised for the LTN walk. For the year 2006 she raised a grand total of $9020, and invite you to be a part of helping her to reach her goal of $10K for 2007. Deborah also donates $1 of the sale of each of her CD's to the cause. CD's are available online @ www.DeborahDavisSings.com. For Holiday Stocking Stuffers purchase 3 of her first release, ("Only Part of Me") for the price of one. Look for the $5 Specials Bin.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research, education, and patient services. The Society's mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.
