This historic interview will highlight Harry Belafonte’s many contributions in entertainment, his African and children’s aid efforts, and his leadership role as a prominent African-American in turbulent times. He will deliver a powerful message for today’s youth and aspiring activists and artists.

· Belafonte has a long and distinguished campaigning record. He became the entertainment industry’s first cultural adviser to the Peace Corps in the early 1960s. He was a leading architect of the civil rights movement. And in l985, he helped bring together 45 top performers to record the song ‘We Are the World’, which raised millions of dollars for emergency assistance in Africa. He was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador on 4 March l987.

· Danny Glover negotiated with movie financiers of Lethal Weapon 1,2,3 and 4, to fund half of the budget for his television or film ventures that are non-violent, such as Buffalo Soldiers (1997) and Beloved (1998). He was awarded Amnesty International USA Lifetime Achievement Award for his role in Namibia’s civil rights movement. In 1998, Glover was appointed the first Global Goodwill Ambassador to UN Development Programme (UNDP). Now in his fourth year as a Goodwill Ambassador, Glover travels all over the world visiting projects and publicizing the fight against AIDS.

· Paul Robeson, Jr., the only child of the legendary Paul Robeson, served for more than 20 years as his father's close aide and personal representative, and is the owner and archivist of the extensive Paul Robeson and Eslanda Robeson Collections. An honor graduate of Cornell University in Electrical Engineering, he is also a member of the Cornell Athletic Hall of Fame, having excelled in football and in track and field.

· The nonprofit Hung Tao Choy Mei Leadership Institute is a local service group started on behalf of the U Street community to help address the heightened risks for disease and violence faced by inner city residents. The Institute grew from the passionate commitment to community betterment of a fourth-generation Washingtonian who founded a Kung Fu school that, in a city that remains stubbornly segregated, is a magnet for students of all races, ages, nationalities, socioeconomic backgrounds, and sexual orientation who come together for personal and spiritual growth.
