Creole Restaurant and Music Supper Club continues to invigorate the Harlem Jazz scene… proudly presenting a Tribute To The Legendary Jimmy McGriff with Reuben Wilson, Melvin Sparks, Bill Easley, and Vince Ector as part of its Jazz Legacy Series – on Friday and Saturday, June 26th and 27th at 8:00 and 10:00 PM at Creole, 2167 Third Avenue, Corner of 118th Street, NY, NY 10035.

Jimmy McGriff’s distinctive style of playing the Hammond B-3 organ established him as one of the all-time best organ players. Throughout his 42-year recording career, McGriff insisted, “People are always classifying me as a jazz organist, but I’m more of a blues organ player… That’s really what I feel.” The legendary icon will be celebrated by a stellar line up of jazz artists: Blue Note Recording Artist Reuben Wilson (organ), Savant Recording Artist Melvin Sparks (Guitar), Bill Easley (Sax), and Vince Ector (Drums) – bringing their own brand of energy to McGriff’s music.

Creole is known for its bright management, quality food and music and for bringing headlining Jazz and R&B back uptown. Located in the heart of East Harlem, its ambiance is reminiscent of the nostalgic era of jazz supper clubs that spawned careers of countless jazz and blues artists who went on to make history. At Creole, one is immediately comforted by warmth and hospitality, as well as international cuisine, which features dishes such as blackened spice catfish, sweet potato beignets, and 20 variations of classic gumbo. Proprietor Kevin Walters prides himself on this unique environment that marries art, music, culture, entertainment, food and a sense of community in one location.

Please join us for this special evening of Tribute to the late great Jimmy McGriff.
