JAPANESE FUTURE POPSTER COMES TO GOLDEN STATE

“A tireless soundscaper, this musical polymath blends electronica with a musical kleptomania." - Time Magazine

Cornelius

Sound explorer Cornelius will be taking his live show to the U.S. for four special dates this May. All shows are in California (following his first ever Mexican performances) and come on the heels of his “Best Surround Sound" Grammy nomination for the Sensurround+B-Sides DVD. The DVD, released on Everloving last year, features an all new 5.1 surround sound audio mix of each video from the critically acclaimed album tying together Cornelius' greater themes ranging from the simplicity of primary colors to the complex concepts contemplated by a world-traveling, Brian Wilson-loving Tokyo-dweller.

Since exploding onto the scene in 1997 with debut pop opus Fantasma, Cornelius has captivated fans worldwide with his free-form multimedia aesthetic and playful sense of humor. Cornelius has collaborated with artists as varied as The Flaming Lips, James Brown, Beck, Blur, Merzbow and occasionally sits in as an auxiliary member of Yellow Magic Orchestra.

Cornelius' live show employs synchronized visuals and custom LED lighting in harmony with the stellar band of multi-instrumentalists. Joining Cornelius on their U.S. dates is Deerhoof.
