SoulandJazz.com Presents: Continuum - A Journey Through Jazz

Episode 12: “Sultry Summer Nights"

Hosted and Produced by J. Scott Fugate, “The Jazz Evangelist"

Greetings fellow travelers - in the past few weeks our journey through jazz has encountered some summer grooves and summer soul . . . and it's been funky, fun, and hot - but this week it's time to cool down. So, let's go sit on the porch as the sun goes down and enjoy a sultry summer night.

As always . . . it's completely free, absolutely legal, presented in rich CD quality, and available for immediate listening right here: http://bit.ly/9tFU5k

We start the evening off with Terence Blanchard creating a steamy New Orleans mood from “A Streetcar Named Desire", and spend some more time smoldering down south with Monty Alexander and getting blue with Sidney Bechet . . . Eric Alexander keeps the blues rolling right into Octobop's sultry “Playboy Theme" and the mood continues to ebb and flow with syncopated heat, slowly chilled until it turns blue by jazz luminaries such as Jamil Sharif, Bill Evans, Will Scruggs, Dexter Gordon, Ken and Harry Watters and Michael Brecker - all bringing a bluesy, steamy, sultry and romantic sound for a perfect summer evening.

So, turn off the lights and TV, light a couple of candles, grab a loved one and your favorite beverage . . . and enjoy a wonderful evening listening to some great jazz. Enjoy the ride!
