Los Angeles, CA—There are unique characteristics about Contemporary Guitarist/Vocalist Steve Oliver who is a West coast native. For most of his life, he kept his eye on the prize of becoming a well versed musician, composer and producer that creates music capturing various sounds from around the world.

With phenomenal capabilities of emulating and incorporating music styles from global genres with a mix of pop/rock/soul and contemporary, he has forged the edge on branding a fresh, new, crisp and chart topping sound as an unparalleled guitarist and signature vocalist. His radiating live performances have earned him standing ovations throughout the U.S. and world tour invites. Adding a technical force to his credit, Oliver is branded and acknowledged for designing a spectacular guitar synth for Carvin Guitars.

Today Steve Oliver's new hit song “Fun in the Sun" from his Global Kiss CD is the No.1 Billboard Chart topping Smooth Jazz contender for 8 weeks, has held the number 1 position on several other major charts for more than 8 weeks and 19 weeks at No.1 on the Indie Chart. The “Global Kiss" CD has been Top 10 in the Amazon sales chart.

He also highly credits and acknowledges the phenomenal musicians who performed with him on this CD and has a knack for building a strong consensus among unsigned and renowned musicians from around the country through virtual music collaborations. His heartfelt contribution to the music economy is helping to ensure that he fairly spreads diverse projects to the unemployed talented musicians, makes recommendations to those that are passionate about their craft and deviates from greed by often performing for trade on various projects.

If this is any inspiration to unsigned or indie recording artists, this remarkable visionary whose journey treads in new found territories acknowledges that you can reach the top of the charts without being signed to a major label.

Please take note that Steve Oliver has his own Southern California based indie label (SOM) Steve Oliver Music, with one Vice President which makes up for his entire staff, an experienced and outstanding Radio Broker, hires a few independent Booking Agents and since July of 2010, a contract with a Twin Cities based PR Strategist. Now, after reaching eminent heights in his career, Oliver clearly states the greatest objective on the agenda is inking a deal with a leading booking agency to continue his grand passion of performing live globally.

Most recently, he received an uplifting invite to participate in the 9th Annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days, a global network of events to promote peace and understanding through the language of music whose Honorary Board members include former President William J. Clinton, Her Majesty Queen Noor of Jordan, Academic Extraordinaire John L. Hennessy and Honorary Committee member icons such as Barbara Streisand, Herbie Hancock, Dave Koz, Elton John and Russell Simmons to name just a grand few.

In 1999, First View was his debut album featuring the hits “West End" and “Highway One," and it was nominated for an AFIM (Association for Independent Music) Award for best smooth jazz recording of 1999. The album scored three hit radio singles and hit the Top 20 on the Gavin and Radio & Records airplay charts. His second CD, 2002's Positive Energy, featured the Top 5 smooth jazz hit “High Noon," while 2004's 3D included “Chips and Salsa" and “Oh Yeah." Radiant, released in 2006, offered the hit “Tradewinds."

If you were an avid viewer of the hit soap opera “Passions" you may have seen Steve Oliver in a short segment as a strolling musician and to his credit, three songs he recorded were aired on the show in 2001. He was also a Headline artist for The Playboy Jazz Fest in 2005 and performed at the Rose Bowl. In October of 2009, Oliver brought the magic of his music to a different platform as he performed four shows on the Tiger Cruise aboard the USS Ronald Regan super carrier and as a special contribution, two new guitars were also donated to the Navy on behalf of his endorser Carvin Guitars.

“I'm an advocate of music healing and bringing people together in the global community," Oliver says. It's healthy. When you're hearing a song and you get goosebumps as its moving through you, there's power there. I write most of my songs thinking of a live performance; I want to get that live essence across when I step into the studio and start recording."

“It is just an amazing, surprising and humbling experience to receive such a positive reaction to my new “Global Kiss" CD release as it is multi-genre music covering world, contemporary, soul and pop. The outstanding support of fans, family, friends, my peers, radio stations, magazines, The Weather Channel and extended interviews since March of this year is appreciated beyond words" said Oliver.

The modern watercolor CD cover was designed by Saxophonist/Producer Marion Meadows. Since his summer tour, Steve Oliver has been working in the studio on various projects. His motto: He believes in looking forward as his principle to life.
