Soundtrack available on New Line Records]. The film is Zigman's second project with the director Nick Cassavettes. He previously worked with the director on the critically acclaimed drama John Q, starring Denzel Washington. Aaron Zigman is rapidly establishing a glowing reputation for his exquisite, lyrical and highly evocative scores.

Zigman's score contain the classical elements needed for the varying musical tasks he encounters along with original jazz reminiscent of the 1940s. Zigman used some jazz greats for the score including Dan Higgins, Gary Grant, Bill Reichenbach, Warren Luening, Dean Parks, Jimmie Wood, Charlie Loper and Robert Zimmitti. To recreate the era's jazz sound, Aaron recorded with sound equipment from the 1940's.

In The Notebook, a man reads from a faded notebook to the woman he regularly visits at a nursing home, his words bring to life the story of a young couple who are separated by class differences and World War II. Based on the acclaimed best seller by Nicholas Sparks and directed by Nick Cassavetes (John Q), The Notebook stars Academy Award Nominees James Garner, Gena Rowlands and Joan Allen opposite Ryan Gosling (Murder by Numbers), Rachel McAdams and James Marsden.

Among his concert works is a 35-minute tone poem tribute to Yitzhak Rabin which was performed by the Los Angeles Jewish Symphony. The USC Symphony orchestra recently performed Zigman's suite for wind ensemble,"Impressions."

Aaron has also worked extensively as a music producer, arranger, and writer for top recording artists including Christina Aguilera, Seal, Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Phil Collins, Tina Turner, Chicago, and Carly Simon.

Zigman's work has been featured on film soundtracks for Mulan, What's Love Got To Do With It?, The Birdcage, License to Kill, and Pocohantas.

Zigman is now working on The Wendell Baker Story, the directorial debut of Andrew and Luke Wilson, and starring their brother Owen Wilson, Will Ferrell, Eva Mendes, and Eddie Griffin. His next project will be contributing music to New Line Cinema's romantic drama Heart of Summer, directed by Sean McNamara and starring Hillary Duff.
